Mallorca is one of those places that stays with you long after you’ve left. It’s not just the stunning beaches and gorgeous scenery — it’s the hidden gems, the local spots, and the way this island feels like a mix of relaxation and adventure all in one. If you’re into authentic Spanish cuisine, tapas, and scenic beaches with the clearest turquoise water, Mallorca is going to steal your heart. For me, it’s the perfect mix of charm and beauty, and I love finding those off-the-beaten-path places that make it feel so special. This guide is all about helping you experience the best of the island, from the must-sees to the little local treasures that make it so unforgettable. Whether you’re planning a trip or just dreaming about one, let me show you why Mallorca is truly one-of-a-kind.
BEST THINGS TO DO IN MALLORCA
RENT A CAR & EXPLORE
Mallorca’s beauty lies in its diversity, and renting a car is the best way to see it all. You're going to want to rent a car right when you arrive at the airport — having your own set of wheels allows you to uncover the island’s hidden treasures at your own pace. As a travel advisor, I can help you find the best car rental option on the island through my local partners, so feel free to inquire below to ensure a trustworthy rental care company. Just a heads up — driving around Mallorca can be an adventure! If you’re planning to explore the mountain towns or some of the more untouched beaches, be ready for rugged, winding roads that require a bit of confidence behind the wheel. It’s totally worth it, but something to keep in mind as you plan!
VISIT THE SANTANYI MARKET
The bustling market in Santanyí is a must-visit for its vibrant atmosphere and local goods. Open Wednesday through Saturday, this market is perfect for picking up fresh produce, handmade crafts, and souvenirs.
EAT YOUR HEART OUT
If you're a foodie like I am, you are going to love Mallorca! There's so much more to the local cuisine than Tapas and Sangria, and one of my favorite activities when I travel is to participate in a food tour. This Mallorca food tour is an absolute must when visiting, where you'll discover lots of tasty goodies local to the Balearic islands.
EXPLORE THE ICONIC SEA CAVES
Taking a sea caves tour in Mallorca was easily one of the coolest things I did while I was there. There are so many hidden caves with shimmering blue water and crazy rock formations that I've never seen before. Our guide was super friendly and full of interesting facts about the caves, but the real highlight was getting to swim in a hidden underground pool.
ENJOY A BOAT DAY
If you've read any of my other guides, you know I cannot stay away from a boat trip! This Sailing excursion in Mallorca is one of the best that the island has to offer. You can choose to take off during the day or for sunset, and there are snacks an open bar on board.
LOCAL OLIVE OIL TASTING
One of my favorite hidden gems in Mallorca was the local olive oil tasting at a 16th-century house. It wasn’t just about tasting some of the best olive oil I’ve ever had (which, trust me, was amazing)—it was the whole experience. The house itself was beautiful, with so much history, and walking through its ancient walls felt like stepping back in time. The tasting itself was so much more than I expected. We sampled a variety of rich, flavorful oils, each with its own unique profile, and learned all about the process from start to finish.
VISIT THE ECOVINYASSA CITRUS FARM
Nestled in the heart of Mallorca, Ecovinyassa is a citrus lover’s paradise. Stroll through fragrant orange and lemon groves, learn about the island’s agricultural traditions and enjoy a freshly squeezed glass of juice surrounded by lush greenery.
